This poster was commissioned by the band as part of the spring North American tour in support of their latest album LITTLE ROPES. As a long time fan of the band I was extremely excited by this opportunity and I had a blast putting it all together. Special thanks to Rachel D. Sleater Kinney's road merch manager for the commission, they couldn't have been easier and nicer to work with. I was one of 20 artist that were asked to create posters for the different cities on the tour, I wish I had one of each poster from the talented artist that were involved. I love this project.
Here is the uncut poster before I took them in to be trimmed to the final 18"x24" size. I always like looking at the crop and registration marks of the uncut prints.
Hand drawing the 3D letters to give it a warmer feel, like an actual human artist was involved in the entire process.
Printing each color by hand with love.
Each print is signed and numbered. We did an edition of 85 for the show and they sold out fast.
It was kind of exciting for me to see my poster for sale at the merch table.
There was a poster rolling table which was nice to see so many people using, apparently not everyone knows how to follow directions.
